StartPad Office Hours

StartPad Office Hours are open (and free) to everyone in the Seattle software development community.  We've assembled a collection of experts who have agreed to be available on a first-come first-served basis to help you with your software startup business/project.

During our open office hours, we also feature free co-working in our conference room (including WiFi) - so you can just "hang-out" and get help from our experts or other attendees while you're here.

Abacube Accounting Services Office Hours

• What: Accounting Office Hours
• When: Noon – 4PM, first Wednesday of every month
• Where: StartPad conference room

Once a month Abacube will have an accountant available at StartPad to answer any accounting related questions.  Typical questions or topics could include:

• Tax impact of selecting a type of entity (C Corp, S Corp, LLC)
• Selecting the correct accounting system
• Hiring employees and preparing payroll
• Setting up a chart of accounts
• How to record transactions
• Revenue recognition issues
• Preparing budgets and forecasts
• Tools for cash management
• Accounting for fixed assets

Roy Leban UX Consulting Office Hours

• What: Roy Leban User Experience Consulting Office Hours
• When: 2pm - 6pm, 2nd Thursday of every month

Once a month, user experience expert Roy Leban will be available to review your user interface and provide one-on-one help with getting the right experience for your users. As both a UI designer and a software architect, Roy provides a unique perspective that will help you solve your problems quickly. Roy can help with:

• Defining the user experience that you want
• Turning your UX vision into a workable UI
• Identifying problems and bottlenecks of your UI before you implement it
• Making sure your UI plan is implementable
• Fixing problems in your UI after you've already implemented it

• How to protect the new venture’s intellectual property
• How to handle equity compensation

Amazon Web Services Office Hours

• What: AWS Office Hours and Open Co-Working
• When: 2pm - 6pm, 4th Tuesday of every month
• Where: StartPad conference room

One of the AWS evangelists will be working in our offices once a month and will be available to answer questions and give some one-on-one help. If you're an AWS user, or are thinking about using S3, EC2, or any of the other AWS services, you can stop by our offices to talk to an expert one-on-one.
